To install DriveCleaner, drag it to your Applications folder and drag it up to your Finder toolbar. To use DriveCleaner, open the drive you want to clean, then click just click on the DriveCleaner icon. Incidentally, DriveCleaner should still work, even if it's not in the Finder toolbar, just by launching it with Spotlight. The window of the root folder of the drive you want to clean needs to be active, though.
