TraffiX monitors the total amount of data transferred between your gateway router (the router that connects you to the internet) and the internet. This is sometimes referred to as "bandwidth" or "Traffic". Some cable/DSL ISPs are now limiting total network traffic, and the penalties for exceeding these limits can be painful. TraffiX uses SNMP (the misnamed "Simple Network Management Protocol") to retrieve traffic data from your gateway router. If your router does not support SNMP, TraffiX will not work.
