PostgreSQL Database Modeler (pgModeler in short) is an open-source solution designed for creating and shaping PostgreSQL databases. The advantage of using pgModeler is that it supports unique PostgreSQL features as well as entity-relationship diagrams. The application comes with a straightforward user interface where you can work with multiple databases at the same time. pgModeler’s primary window consists of a main menu bar, a control toolbar, model editing toolbar, model canvas area, and different panes for the model objects, executed operations, model validation and object finder. From the model canvas area (the place where the database model can actually be viewed and edited), you can draw various model objects, such as views, tables, relationships or textboxes. Moreover, the canvas area can be surrounded by dashed blue lines, which help avoid cutting an object out when printing.
