Libmpsse is a free and open-source C library for interfacing with SPI/I2C devices via FTDI's FT-2232 family of USB chips. Libmpsse is based around the libftdi library and was written in C. Also, Libmpsse includes a Python wrapper courtesy of swig. Libmpsse provides support for FTDI chips that contain an MPSSE engine, like the FT-2232H and the FT-232H.
